Here are some Magic: The Gathering Dissension combos I came up with.
Blessing of the Nephilim + Might of the Nephilim + Transguild Courier Besides the Nephilim creatures, an obvious target for Blessing of the Nephilim and Might of the Nephilim is the Transguild Courier, which gets +5/+5 from Blessing and +10/+10 until end of turn from Might. Forecasting a Govern the Guildless can help out if you don't have a 5-color creature. Some non-Dissension 5-color creatures: Sliver Queen, Sliver Overlord, Atogatog, and Cromat. Dovescape + Novijen, Heart of Progress Play a noncreature spell and get a flock of Birds from Dovescape. Activate Novijen's ability to put a +1/+1 counter on each creature that came into play this turn. Your Bird tokens are now 2/2 and considerably scarier. Dovescape + Pride of the Clouds If you like flyers and W/U, this combo is for you. Pride of the Clouds gets stronger with flyers, so why not give every noncreature spell the potential to boost its power / toughness? Dissension + other sets combos
With a Celestial Ancient in play, you can basically pay GG (return Whip Silk to your hand and then play it) to activate the Ancient's ability and put a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control. Buried Alive + Proclamation of Rebirth Play Buried Alive to get 3 creatures from your library into your graveyard (choose creatures with converted mana cost 1 or less). Now give those 3 creatures new life with Proclamation of Rebirth. You can do all 3 at the same time by playing Proclamation of Rebirth, or you can go the slow and expensive route by forecasting the Proclamation of Rebirth. Bronze Bombshell + Custody Battle / Donate / Risky Move / Sky Swallower How can you make your opponent gain control of Bronze Bombshell, so he or she sacrifices it and takes 7 damage? An easy way is to simply Donate it. Alternatives: - enchant Bronze Bombshell with Custody Battle and don't sacrifice a land - SKy Swallower to give your opponent all other permanents you control - Risky Move and hope that you lose the flip Æthermage's Touch + Worldly Tutor Need a blocker? Get any creature from your library, put it into play, attack on your turn, and return it to your hand at the end of your turn. Dovescape + Trophy Hunter Make sure you win the war of Birds with a Trophy Hunter (and give it some target practice). You can ping any Birds your opponent creates from playing noncreature spells (and getting them countered with Dovescape), making your Trophy Hunter bigger in the process. Pride of the Clouds + Wonder Now creatures that don't normally have flying can help out your Pride of the Clouds, as long as Wonder is in the graveyard and you control an Island. Instead of Wonder, you could also try Levitation or Student of Elements flipped.
Amok will let you empty your hand (to activate hellbent on Rakdos) and give you +1/+1 counters to place (how about on Rakdos?). Each +1/+1 counter you place on Rakdos effectively does double damage with hellbent active. Psychatog + Rakdos Pit Dragon Psychatog by itself is scary, but why don't we add a Dragon that gets double strike as long as your hand is empty? Psychatog can eat up your hand and graveyard while unleashing a hellbent Rakdos Pit Dragon. Not something you'd like to see on the other side of the table. Bramble Elemental + Doubling Season + Simic Guildmage With this combo, you won't just move +1/+1 counters, you'll add an extra +1/+1 counter every time you make a counter move with the Simic Guildmage. If you really want to, you can move counters back and forth between the Elemental and Guildmage just to get more. And your Bramble Elemental can benefit more than once from the same aura. All you have to do is move the aura off the Elemental and then move it back on. This triggers the Elemental's ability, giving you two Saproling tokens. With a Doubling Season out, you could generate a total of four Saproling tokens. |
